Story
Believe it or not, there are two versions to this story...
From my (Ben's) perspective, it began with a text message sent from the US of A down to Patagonia in which Melissa (my SECOND oldest friend) announced that she "had found the girl for me."
Having received this very text message many times before, my excitement remained minimal. But, I was due back in The States in a few months so I told Melissa I'd meet this mystery girl then. Fast-forward a few months, I'd been back a bit and still hadn't heard anything so I texted Melissa to say "Whatever happened to the girl for me?" To which Melissa replies "Oh, bad news! She got married."
Well, that would have normally been the end of the story. But, as it happened, Alexandria was also a big fan of one of my favorite annual events, Western Fantasy. It came to pass that she (and her husband at the time) came along to sit at my table at Western Fantasy that year. That event kicked off another two years of fits, starts, and missed connections until fate conspired to make us both single at the same time.
Upon learning that we were each unattached Melissa, who originally introduced us, summoned each one of us to drinks with her. When the two of us independently turned up to meet Melissa, she promptly (and awkwardly) stood up, dismissed herself, and left. And the rest, as they say, is history...

Most of you are, or were, from Denver so we assume you know to fly to DIA and then drive up from there. The really ambitious could conceivably fly into Eagle and, if Independence Pass is still open, then Aspen is an option as well.

When is the RSVP deadline?
I think everyone has pretty much already said yes, so sooner is better but August 1 is the official cutoff.
Can I bring a date?
I think y'all are all in committed relationships so if you choose to bring a new date you'll be responsible for the fallout...
Are kids welcome?
We really wrestled with how much accommodation to provide on this front. The word from all but... one (?) of you was that you definitely did NOT want to bring the kids so we won't be planning on having any kids, I'm afraid.
What will the weather be like?
It's the Colorado mountains in October. Presumably, the event will begin at 80 and sunny and then whenever we decide to head outside a massive blizzard will blow in. So, prepare for all eventualities.
Where should I park?
There's a good amount of parking at the venue. Should that be overrun by the time you arrive, there's also a sizable lot one block south at the new Leadville train depot which is noted on your map.
What should I wear?
Truthfully you can wear whatever you like, but the official dress code is "Western Chic." So, I trust some cowboy boots will be purchased...
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
Cocktails and ceremony will be outdoors but the reception and dancing will be inside.
What kind of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?
We're going to be inside and outside but outside we'll be covering varied terrain ranging from grass, to dirt, to wooden boardwalks so wear shoes that'll leave you happy for the whole night long.
Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?
